China's leading electric vehicle (EV) companies have once again demonstrated robust growth, with Nio, Li Auto, and XPeng all reporting impressive delivery numbers for October. This surge in demand comes amid an increasingly competitive landscape, showcasing the strong performance and technological advancements within the sector.
Nio achieved an unprecedented monthly high in October, delivering 40,397 vehicles, marking a significant 92.6% increase year-over-year. This remarkable growth was driven by its diverse product portfolio, including the premium Nio line, the family-oriented ONVO, and the high-end compact FIREFLY series. Notably, the ONVO L90 continued its strong momentum, exceeding 10,000 units for the third consecutive month, solidifying Nio's leadership in the all-electric SUV market. Meanwhile, Li Auto recorded 31,767 deliveries in October, contributing to a lifetime total of 1,462,788 vehicles. The company is actively addressing a substantial backlog of over 70,000 orders for its Li i6 model and is strategically expanding its international footprint with new retail outlets in Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan, targeting key regions like Central Asia, the Middle East, Europe, and Asia-Pacific. As of late October, Li Auto boasted a comprehensive network of 551 retail locations, 554 service centers, and 3,508 fast-charging stations across China.
XPeng also celebrated a record-breaking October with 42,013 deliveries, a 76% increase from the previous year and a slight uptick from September. This marks the second consecutive month that XPeng has surpassed 40,000 deliveries. Year-to-date, the company's shipments reached 355,209 units through October, a substantial 190% jump from the prior year. XPeng's global expansion is gaining pace, having entered seven new markets across Europe, Asia, and Africa, including Lithuania, Estonia, Morocco, and Qatar. The company also highlighted the strong adoption of its advanced driver-assistance system, XNGP, particularly in urban environments, and plans to unveil further advancements in "Physical AI" and autonomous technology at its annual AI Day on November 5 in Guangzhou.
The stellar performance of Nio, Li Auto, and XPeng in October underscores the dynamic and rapidly evolving nature of the global electric vehicle industry. These companies are not only pushing the boundaries of technological innovation but also expanding their market presence globally, demonstrating a commitment to sustainable transportation and a future driven by innovation and enhanced consumer experience.
