Hollywood, California – In a significant casting announcement on January 20, 2026, Madelyn Cline, widely recognized for her leading role in Netflix's hit series 'Outer Banks,' entered negotiations to join an untitled comedy film. The project, set to be directed by the acclaimed Judd Apatow, will see Cline acting alongside Glen Powell, known for his dynamic performances. Cristin Milioti has also been confirmed to join the cast, adding further talent to the ensemble. The screenplay was collaboratively penned by Apatow and Powell, promising a blend of their distinctive comedic styles. The story, a comedic exploration of a country Western star's faltering career and personal life, will feature Powell in the central role, with Cline portraying his character's girlfriend. Universal Pictures has scheduled the release of this highly anticipated feature for February 5, 2027. Production for the film is expected to kick off in the spring of 2026.
