Oreo Unveils Marvel-Themed Cookie Collaboration

In an exciting collaboration, Oreo, the renowned cookie brand, is joining forces with Disney's Marvel Universe to introduce a special line of cookies. Beginning February 2nd, the new 'Marvel Oreo Stuf of Legends Cookies' will be available for a limited period at various food retailers. These unique cookies will showcase embossed images of beloved characters from the Avengers, X-Men, Fantastic Four, and Spider-Man franchises.

This partnership, which took two years to develop, builds on Oreo's history of successful brand alliances, following a previous collaboration with Star Wars. Instead of focusing on a new flavor, this campaign centers around an engaging narrative: Marvel villains have intercepted one of the four planned cookie packages. Consumers are invited to participate in an interactive sweepstakes by scanning QR codes on the cookie packages, registering, and voting on optimal delivery routes to recover the missing package. Each vote and route scan provides entries for a chance to win various prizes, including a cash prize, a Disney.com gift card, and an Oreo.com digital code.

Matt Foley, Vice President of Oreo at Mondelez, highlighted the unprecedented scale of this initiative, noting that 32 distinct character designs have been created across the four Marvel properties. Liz Shortreed, Senior Vice President Americas & Global Softlines at Disney Consumer Products, emphasized the shared values and authentic experience this collaboration brings, aiming to integrate iconic Super Heroes into everyday life. The packages will contain a random assortment of character cookies, ensuring a surprise with every purchase. Marvel artist Todd Nauck was brought in to ensure the character depictions on the cookies were accurate and true to the original designs. These creative marketing strategies consistently generate significant consumer interest and expand brand awareness for Oreo.
